Bio
Erin Fisher Wright is a bassist, guitarist, and educator whose career spans more than three decades of performance, instruction, and artistic leadership. Her early classical piano training informed a later focus on guitar and jazz studies under the mentorship of Shelly Berg at San Jacinto College, where she was awarded a full scholarship and began her professional career on bass. Wright’s performance experience includes sideman work with nationally and internationally recognized artists such as Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Joe Henderson, Terence Blanchard, Freddie Hubbard, Lyle Lovett, Joe Sample, and Frank Sinatra Jr., as well as orchestral and theatrical rhythm section work for productions with the Houston Symphony Pops, Stages, and Theatre Under The Stars. Her educational work includes faculty appointments at Houston School of Performing and Visual Arts and the University of Houston–Downtown, international engagements as a jazz clinician, and her current role as adjunct faculty at San Jacinto College, teaching double bass and electric bass.
